Uses:

Sulfuric acid 98 percent can be used for cleaning purposes; for example, it removes organic stains from stainless steel and removes rust deposits on steel pipe ends in pulp and paper mills where high pressure boiler water, cooled down to 140 degrees Celsius, flows through pipes containing sulfuric acid. Sulphuric acid is used in acidic drain cleaners to unclog blocked pipes, etch metal surfaces. , and even refill acid batteries under appropriate circumstances.

Safety:

General:Wear self-contained breathing apparatus to prevent contact with thermal decomposition products. Will react with water to form toxic and corrosive fumes. Contact with Water can cause violent liberation of heat and splattering of the material.

Inhalation: Move to fresh air, if not breathing give artificial respiration. If breathing is difficult, give oxygen. Get medical aid.

Skin Contact / Absorption: Get medical aid immediately. Immediately flush skin with plenty of water for at least 15 mins while removing contaminated clothes and shoes. Wash clothing before reuse. Destroy contaminated shoes.

Eye Contact: Get medical aid immediately. Don’t allow victim to rub or keep eye closed. Extensive irrigation with water is required (at least for 30 minutes).

Ingestion: Do not induce vomiting. If victim is conscious and alert, 2-4 cup full of milk or water. Never give anything by mouth to an unconscious person. Get medical aid immediately..
